High Heels

This assemblage is the result of a song that’s played on the radio all the time.  One of those catchy melody- silly lyrics- songs that just get stuck in your head for days.  I had this sketch laying around for a few months, and now it turned into something that reminds one of the lyrics of the song:  ”I have my high heels on, and my black mini skirt”.  :)

  1. I love it! Both the shape and the string, which I find is arranged in a perfect balance between regularity and “free performence”, this piece of art is alive.

  2. Thanks, your observation is perfect, my aim here was form and balanced asymmetry. I’d like to pair this with two more pieces.

  3. The loops of your twine are as good as well-modelled folds of cloth and put movement and even sensuality into the figure, which was good even “undecorated”. Was the twine an afterthought or did you imagine using it right from the beginning? And is it glued to the figure so that it can’t move anymore? It looks wrapped so spontaneously. Very nice.

  4. Thanks, Swallows! :)
Yes, I thought about leaving the piece “undecorated”, however there was glue residue left on the surface. To cover it up I tried different ideas for decoration, and this came up on top. But I liked the other ones too, so I will make two more with slightly different poses and decoration. But I can’t find black felt, so it has to wait until I do.
The twine is glued to some spots only at the moment.
