New work…mermaid, tribal mask? don’t know yet

End result of the paper tutorial posted here:

Can’t come up with a name for this. And not sure whether to paint the background or not. They say the hardest part is to know where to stop – for a good reason.

  1. Looks great to me!

  2. the mermaid thing was just a first impression…I think because the texture on the face resembles scales and green color is dominant but if you feel tribal about it, I think that would work really well, too.

OK, this is just me being me, but it’s almost like thoughts are entering from the top and something’s dripping out from the bottom…what could be earring area. That’s kind of cool. Don’t know if it will help you name the work.

Sorry I can’t be of more help. I have like a bajillion unnamed works of my own now so apparently I kind of suck at naming things.

  3. Kim, I like your idea of thoughts going through his head. That would go with the face sort of reminding me of the Buddha. Pretty wild isn’t, going from mermaid to chief to Buddha? I think that’s what I like about it: keeps me guessing about who and what he is. Thanks for trying to help with the name. I’ll just simply call it Mask for now.

  4. It’s a Medusa head, erika. Even scares me.

  5. Lol, swallows. Just wait for the REAL Medusa head. I intend to start on it soon.

  6. Swallows, you can’t seem to get medusa heads off your mind! lol.

  7. cool!

  8. Junbert, I’m glad you like it! Thanks for stopping by.
